Styling florals for KLH custom homes

Designing florals for photoshoots alongside KLH Custom Homes has provided exciting opportunities to see our designs in harmony with their striking interiors.

Throughout our years of designing florals for weddings and events, we've always aspired to expand our artistry to other art-focused occasions.

We're consistently impressed by KLH's portfolio of interior design work and custom builds. Your attention to detail—the texture of your tile choices, the clean shapes, the focus on natural lighting, and the respect for negative space—resonates deeply with our approach to floral design.

To be in the company of Liz, her incredible team and their photographer Diana Paulson Lineaphoto.com, was an insightful experience. Watching the way they work for the duration of shoots, serves as a reminder of the importance of simplicity. The use of one flower type in a vase, enhanced by repetition, becomes something greater in its effect. It’s meaningful to interact with a singular flower type and to experiment with layering the blooms creates a unique impact. In wonderfully, deliberately refined spaces, providing simplistic floral stylings in designer vases, or arranging something a little more wild and gestural can offer balance. As artists, we love to experiment with color, shape, texture, depth, movement and scale. Knowing full-well the space would lend purpose, stepping outside foraging for the most poetic foliage can be just what the space and image needs.

“Working with Hayley this past year was a wonderful experience.  She came right alongside our team as we worked to style interiors + select corresponding florals, and was quick to adapt based on the vision for a space, or a specific need (ie: running outside to find just the right wild branches!)  She also came prepared – vessels, floral colors + shapes that matched our aesthetic, etc.  Her quiet, willing and sweet nature was an asset to have on set.”

-Liz Hoekzema, Owner & Lead Designer of KLH Custom Homes

We sincerely hope to work with Liz again next time KLH plans another shoot. It’s a life-giving experience to work with other creatives and to see how our flowers inhabit different spaces.
