Spotlight: Glōam Candles

You know that feeling when something you do naturally becomes a part of your identity to others? For me, it was burning candles.

It wasn't a conscious routine; I'd simply find myself lighting one before having dinner, folding the laundry, or having company. It was so ingrained that a friend once remarked, "Hayley, you seem to always have a candle burning." He even started buying candles for himself to create a warmer ambiance in his home.

Perhaps my love for candles stems from our work, where we use them to elevate our tablescapes, creating a memorable, celebratory experience for our clients. We love how they show the passage of time, dripping wax the mark of a lovely evening.

All this to say, we are thrilled that our studio is now a stockist of Glōam's candles. We've admired the presentation of their work on social media for over a year and we were very impressed by the quality of their tapers we got to showcase during a styled shoot that took place last summer. Their unique colors are striking and you can really feel that their craftsmanship is born out of their realized, life-long passion...

Glōam is a small business owned by Sigal, who hand-dips each candle up to 40 times for a smooth finish and extended burn time. Crafted from pure beeswax, they provide a clean, non-toxic burn and naturally purify the air.

We were fascinated to learn that bees have been drawn to Sigal's hand-dipping process in her Santa Barbara backyard, even building a hive nearby. We also loved hearing about her early influences, especially her grandfather, a painter who mixed pigments with natural materials. While living in Southern France, Sigal experimented with kitchen dyes and natural materials to create unique pigments. Evenings were spent with family, enjoying meals by the fireplace or gathering outside under an oak tree, wrapped in wool blankets and surrounded by candlelight. These simple, magical moments ignited Sigal's passion for creating candles that illuminate spaces and tell stories.
