Seasonal Elegance | An Ikebana-Inspired Workshop
Join us for Seasonal Elegance, an Ikebana-Inspired Floral Workshop
Join Hayley and Zachary, lead designers of Hyssop Floral, for an intimate floral workshop inspired by the art of Ikebana. This gathering offers an opportunity to slow down, engage with seasonal blooms, and create arrangements that reflect both natural form and your own creative voice.
Bring a drink or a small snack to share if you wish, and allow yourself to be fully present in an afternoon or evening of mindful, hands-on design.
Date: Thursday, October 30th
Time: 12:00–2:00 PM or 6:30–8:30 PM (your choice)
Location: Hyssop Floral, 619 Lyon Street NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503
Workshop Experience:
An introduction to preparing flowers and cultivating a sensitivity to their form and movement.
Guidance in selecting stems and composing arrangements with layered depth, balance, and seasonal inspiration.
A demonstration of the design process, including the use of a flower frog (kenzan pin) to bring structure and elegance to your creation.
Time to work thoughtfully, crafting a composition that resonates with your own aesthetic sensibility while making new friends in a safe and supportive space. :)
Included in the Workshop:
Use of Hyssop’s specialty garden shears (or bring your own)
Flowers and a ceramic vessel with a secured metal flower frog, yours to take home along with your arrangement.
This workshop is designed as a quiet, immersive experience—a chance to explore floral design, and create something beautiful that honors the season.
Please Note: We’ve selected blooms that feel seasonal and inspiring, but they may look a little different from the pictures. Your arrangement will be on the petite side—perfect for a fun, hands-on experience!
